Artist Statement

My art work represents some of the political problems that are currently facing the Italian people and the government. In the center of my artwork I have the Italian flag, surrounded by words and short statements of some of the problems that they are currently facing. An example of this is the words corruption, greed, immigration and government just to name a few of them. Above the flag I have the word Future with a question mark following it to ask where the future of the going and if there in what direction this country will continue to go in. another significant point is the 20^th century because much of the thinking and actions of this country are similar to those that we went through in the US back in the 50 and 60. What want you to realize looking at this artwork is that Italy is a relativity “new” country in the problems that they are facing and that they are taking an old 20^th century way of dealing with 21^st century problems.
